Cartier has appointed Stefano Orfanelli as Vice President, adding an experienced luxury retail and client services leader to its organisation.

Stefano announced the appointment on LinkedIn in October 2026. His career spans senior roles across some of the luxury sector’s most recognised brands, including Gucci, Hermès, Louis Vuitton and Moncler, with experience in retail operations, customer engagement, e-commerce services and after-sales care.

His background combines frontline retail leadership with responsibility for large, geographically distributed teams and client service operations across international markets.

Leadership experience across Gucci and Hermès

Before joining Cartier, Stefano spent nearly six years at Gucci in leadership roles spanning retail management and client services.

His responsibilities included managing Gucci’s Italian retail network, covering 17 stores, including outlets and strategic resort locations. He also served as Director of Client Services for the Americas and EMEA, with a focus on developing an omnichannel approach that connected digital engagement with in-store experiences and supported customer relationships and sales growth.

Earlier, at Hermès, he served as European E-commerce and Client Service Director, contributing to the development of a Paris-based client service hub supporting European stores and e-commerce customers. He previously managed the brand’s Milan store, leading a team of approximately 60 employees.

Building connected luxury customer experiences

Stefano`s experience reflects the increasing importance of integrated customer engagement in luxury retail. As customers move between digital platforms, e-commerce services and physical boutiques, brands are working to deliver more consistent, personalised experiences across each interaction.

His work at Gucci included connecting client services with retail and digital environments, while his responsibilities at Hermès covered both e-commerce support and store operations. These experiences provide a foundation in managing customer relationships across multiple channels and markets.

A career spanning leading luxury brands

Before his roles at Gucci and Hermès, Stefano held Store Director positions at Louis Vuitton in Geneva and Milan. He also worked as Worldwide Retail Operations Manager at Moncler.

Across these positions, his experience has encompassed store management, international client relationships, retail operations and service delivery.

His move to Cartier marks the next chapter in a career built across global luxury brands, bringing together retail leadership and client experience expertise.
