Article content
Swapna Rege has been promoted to Head of FI Sales for Corporate Payments, covering MENA and Eastern Europe at Mastercard.
The move marks a new chapter for Swapna within Mastercard after 2.5 years leading Corporate Products across EEMEA. She described the transition as an opportunity to take on something new while continuing to work in an area she has enjoyed being part of.
Her new remit places her at the intersection of financial institution relationships and Mastercard’s corporate payments business across two strategically important regions.
From Corporate Products to FI Sales
During her previous role, Swapna headed Corporate Products across EEMEA, giving her experience across Mastercard’s corporate payments portfolio and the broader financial services ecosystem.
Her move into FI Sales brings that experience into a role with a stronger regional commercial focus, spanning markets across the Middle East and North Africa and Eastern Europe.
The transition also reflects the breadth of career opportunities within Mastercard as leaders move between product, commercial and regional responsibilities.
A regional mandate across MENA and Eastern Europe
Swapna’s new role covers MENA and Eastern Europe, bringing together markets with distinct financial services landscapes, institutional relationships and corporate payments needs.
As financial institutions continue to evaluate digital payment capabilities and new ways to support corporate customers, sales leadership remains closely connected to how payment networks, banks and businesses respond to changing market requirements.
Swapna’s experience across EEMEA provides continuity as she takes on the expanded regional mandate.
Continuing a career in corporate payments
Swapna said she is looking forward to “trying something new” while remaining in a space she has particularly enjoyed being part of.
Her transition also highlights a career progression within Mastercard that has moved across corporate products and now into financial institution sales, combining product knowledge with a broader commercial responsibility.
Acknowledging the leadership support
In announcing the move, Swapna thanked Clyde Rosanowski, Onur Kursun and Marc Pettican for their trust and support.
She also acknowledged the colleagues and partners she has worked with throughout her career, signalling the importance of those relationships as she begins the next phase of her role.
With the new position, Swapna will focus on Mastercard’s FI Sales agenda for Corporate Payments across MENA and Eastern Europe, bringing her EEMEA corporate products experience into a new regional leadership remit.
