Hex has appointed David Kohn to lead Revenue Operations, adding an experienced revenue operations leader as the company continues to expand its AI-powered data and analytics platform.
David joins Hex from Writer, where he previously led Revenue Operations through a pivotal stage of the company's growth. His move brings him back to an area closely connected to his earlier career in analytics, while giving him the opportunity to apply his RevOps experience within a company focused on changing how organizations work with data.
Returning to analytics through AI
David described the move as a return to his roots in analytics, citing Hex's position at the intersection of AI and data as a key reason for joining.
Hex has built its platform around making data analysis more accessible across organizations, with capabilities spanning AI-powered notebooks, data applications and agentic analytics. The company's positioning is centered on enabling more people across a business to work with data and generate trusted insights.
For David, the opportunity combines his background in analytics with the operational and commercial experience he has developed throughout his RevOps career.
Leading Revenue Operations through growth
At Hex, David will lead the company's Revenue Operations function and inherit an established team as the business enters what he describes as a period of hypergrowth.
Revenue Operations sits at the intersection of sales, marketing, customer operations, data and business strategy. For a company scaling an AI and data platform, that function can play an important role in creating greater visibility across the revenue engine and ensuring teams can operate from consistent data and processes.
David's experience leading RevOps at Writer provides a direct foundation for the mandate.
From Writer to Hex
David's move follows his time at Writer, where he led Revenue Operations during a significant stage in the company's development.
In announcing his departure, he thanked Writer's leadership team and colleagues for the opportunity to lead RevOps through what he described as a pivotal period of growth.
The transition to Hex allows David to take that experience into another technology company operating in a rapidly evolving AI market.
Hex's evolving data platform
Hex has expanded beyond traditional analytics workflows toward an AI-powered platform designed to help organizations move from questions to trusted insights.
The company says more than 2,000 organizations use Hex, with its platform supporting data work across functions including finance, operations, growth, product and engineering.
Hex has also been investing in agentic analytics, including its Notebook Agent and Threads capabilities, as it looks to make sophisticated data work accessible to a broader range of users.
That evolution creates a natural connection with David's background, particularly as RevOps organizations increasingly depend on reliable data and analytics to understand performance and guide commercial decisions.
The next phase for Revenue Operations
David's appointment comes as Hex continues to build around the convergence of AI, analytics and enterprise decision-making.
For its Revenue Operations organization, the challenge will be to support growth while maintaining the data discipline, processes and cross-functional alignment needed to scale effectively.
With David leading the function, Hex gains a RevOps leader whose experience combines analytics, revenue strategy and operational execution as the company enters its next phase.
