Article content
Paul Baptist has joined Snowflake as Regional Vice President, Partner SEs & Field CTOs for APJ, taking on a leadership role focused on Snowflake’s technical partner ecosystem across the region.
In his new role, Paul will lead a team of Partner Sales Engineers and Field CTOs with expertise spanning security, AI/ML, data engineering and other areas. The team will work with Snowflake’s GSI, CSP and Data Cloud partners to architect solutions on the Snowflake Data Cloud.
Leading technical strategy across the partner ecosystem
A central part of Paul’s mandate will be working with Snowflake teams to shape its technical strategy across Strategic Alliances.
The role also includes deepening Snowflake’s work with major cloud partners including AWS and Microsoft Azure, while ensuring partners across APJ have the technical capabilities and support needed to help customers address complex data challenges.
For a partner ecosystem spanning multiple markets and technology environments, technical alignment becomes increasingly important as organizations look to modernize data platforms and adopt AI.
Supporting partners across AI, security and data engineering
Paul’s team brings together specialists across several areas that are increasingly connected within enterprise technology environments.
Security, AI/ML and data engineering are becoming integral to how organizations build and operate modern data architectures. Bringing these capabilities together within partner engineering teams allows GSIs, CSPs and other Data Cloud partners to develop solutions around specific customer requirements.
The APJ remit gives Paul responsibility for helping coordinate that technical expertise across a diverse regional partner landscape.
A focus on eliminating data silos
Paul highlighted Snowflake’s vision for the AI Data Cloud as a major reason for joining the company.
Snowflake positions the platform as a unified environment where organizations can bring together siloed data, discover and securely share information, and support workloads spanning data warehousing, data engineering and AI application development.
For Paul, the opportunity is not simply about the technology platform itself, but about helping partners and customers build on it regardless of where their data and users are located.
Strengthening strategic alliances
Strategic alliances are another important component of Paul’s new mandate.
His role will involve working across Snowflake and its partner ecosystem to strengthen technical collaboration, with AWS and Azure specifically highlighted as areas where the company intends to deepen its work.
That creates a broader opportunity for partners to combine cloud infrastructure, data platforms and AI capabilities as customers increasingly look for integrated approaches to modernization.
Snowflake's AI Data Cloud opportunity
Snowflake has increasingly positioned its Data Cloud around the convergence of data and AI, with organizations looking to use existing enterprise data as the foundation for analytics, applications and AI initiatives.
For partners, this creates opportunities to help customers move from fragmented data environments toward architectures that can support multiple workloads and use cases.
Paul’s APJ leadership role places him at the center of that partner-led opportunity, connecting technical expertise with the ecosystem Snowflake relies on to extend its platform into customer environments.
A new chapter in APJ
Paul said he is looking forward to working with the Snowflake team and reconnecting with many colleagues and partners through the new role.
His appointment adds a senior technical leadership layer to Snowflake’s APJ partner organization at a time when enterprises are increasingly bringing together cloud, data and AI strategies.
With responsibility for Partner SEs and Field CTOs across the region, Paul will focus on helping Snowflake’s partner ecosystem architect and deliver solutions built around the company's AI Data Cloud.
