Article content
Tim Prugar has taken on the role of Senior Manager, Customer Enablement and Activation, APJ, at Snowflake, where he will help build the company's education and enablement strategy across Asia Pacific and Japan.
In his new position, Tim will work more closely with customers, partners, solution engineers and account teams to use education and enablement as a way to accelerate AI outcomes. The role reflects a growing focus across enterprise technology on helping customers move beyond purchasing and implementing platforms to using them effectively and realising measurable business value.
Tim will work under Kelly Stoddard as Snowflake develops its approach to customer education and activation across the region.
In sharing the appointment, Tim highlighted the opportunity to build on his experience working alongside Snowflake's solution engineering teams while expanding his collaboration with customers, partners and account teams.
From customer operations to regional technology leadership
Tim brings experience spanning customer success, operations and technology, including nearly a decade with Next Caller and Pindrop.
At Next Caller, he held leadership responsibilities across operations, product and customer success. His work included customer onboarding, product development and building relationships with customers using real-time call verification and fraud detection technology.
Following Pindrop's acquisition of Next Caller, Tim continued his work in the voice technology and security space. He later relocated to Singapore to help build Pindrop's business across Asia Pacific and Japan, working with customers and teams across multiple markets.
His experience in taking technology to customers across more than a dozen countries has provided exposure to the operational and commercial considerations involved in introducing technical solutions across different markets.
That background is relevant to his new remit at Snowflake, where customer education must connect technical capabilities with practical business needs, regional priorities and the outcomes organisations are looking to achieve.
Making education part of AI adoption
As enterprises increase investment in data platforms and AI, the ability to help teams understand and apply new capabilities has become an important part of technology adoption.
Education and enablement can help customers develop the skills required to use platforms effectively, identify relevant use cases and build confidence in applying data and AI to business challenges. They can also help partners and internal account teams communicate product capabilities more clearly and support customers throughout their adoption journey.
For Snowflake, Tim's role brings these priorities together across APJ. His work will involve close collaboration with technical specialists, customers, partners and commercial teams, helping ensure education supports both product adoption and broader customer outcomes.
The regional focus is significant. APJ includes markets with different business environments, technology priorities and approaches to enterprise adoption. Building an effective enablement strategy requires an understanding of those differences, alongside coordination across regional and global teams.
Supporting Snowflake's data and AI ambitions
Snowflake provides a cloud-based platform for data management, analytics, data engineering and AI workloads. As organisations explore new AI applications, the quality and accessibility of their data, together with the skills needed to use it, remain important considerations.
Customer education can help bridge the gap between platform capabilities and practical implementation. By bringing learning closer to customer engagement, organisations can better support adoption, encourage effective use of technology and help teams realise value from their investments.
Tim's appointment places him at the intersection of education, technical engagement and customer activation. His emphasis on working closely with Snowflake's solution engineers, partners and account teams points to a collaborative approach to supporting customers as they pursue AI initiatives.
Looking ahead
Tim has credited colleagues including Chris Skirde, Kirsten Childs, Emily Carrillo, Diana Shaw, Phoebe Truong and Stephen Salinas for supporting his development at Snowflake. He also acknowledged the colleagues he will continue working with as he helps build the business across APJ.
His new role brings together his background in customer-facing technology and regional business development with a focus on education and enablement. As enterprises look to translate growing interest in AI into practical results, helping customers build the knowledge and capabilities to use these technologies effectively will remain an important part of the adoption process.
