OpenAI has appointed James Bartholomew as Head of ANZ Enterprise GTM, adding an experienced enterprise technology leader to support the company's expanding presence across Australia and New Zealand.
James joins OpenAI after more than eight years within the Salesforce ecosystem, including leadership roles that spanned enterprise software, industry solutions, and go-to-market strategy. During his tenure, he played a key role in building and scaling the Vlocity business across JAPAC before its acquisition by Salesforce, working closely with enterprise customers, consulting partners, and industry specialists throughout the region.
In his new role, James will be responsible for accelerating enterprise adoption of OpenAI's technologies across ANZ, helping organizations identify and implement AI-driven solutions that improve productivity, innovation, and business outcomes. His appointment comes as enterprises increasingly move beyond AI experimentation toward large-scale deployment and operational integration.
The addition of James reflects OpenAI's continued investment in regional leadership as organizations across industries seek practical pathways to adopt generative AI technologies. With extensive experience leading enterprise growth initiatives and working with complex customer environments, he is expected to play a central role in expanding OpenAI's enterprise engagement strategy in the region.
As competition intensifies among technology providers seeking to support enterprise AI transformation, leadership appointments focused on go-to-market execution and customer adoption are becoming increasingly important to long-term growth strategies.
