NIC+ZOE has appointed Donna Tobin as Chief Marketing Officer, following her five-month tenure as the company's Interim Brand + Marketing Executive.

The appointment expands Donna's role within the Boston-based women's fashion brand, where she has been working with CEO Avra Myers, CSO Taal Rachamimov and teams across the organisation on brand, marketing and growth priorities.

During her interim engagement, Donna worked on strengthening brand awareness, evolving the integrated marketing strategy, creative imagery and messaging, and supporting the launch of nz by NIC+ZOE, the company's collection aimed at a younger audience.

From Interim Leadership to CMO

Donna joined NIC+ZOE on a 20-week contract engagement to lead brand and marketing before moving into the permanent CMO position.

Her transition into the CMO role gives continuity to the work undertaken during those five months while broadening her responsibility across the brand's marketing agenda.

Donna has described the opportunity as one focused on evolving the brand, its product offering and how NIC+ZOE connects with a new generation of customers.

Evolving the NIC+ZOE Brand

A central part of Donna's remit is the continued evolution of the NIC+ZOE brand.

The company was founded in 2005 by Dorian Lightbown, with the brand built around artful design, comfort and versatility. NIC+ZOE continues to position those principles at the centre of its product and customer experience.

For Donna, the CMO role brings together brand strategy, creative direction and marketing execution as the company looks to build on its established identity while reaching new audiences.

Connecting Brand With Growth

Donna's mandate also extends beyond brand development to business growth.

Her appointment comes with a focus on evolving the company's product offering, inspiring a new generation of customers and supporting revenue growth.

That creates a broader connection between brand marketing and commercial performance, with marketing playing a role in how NIC+ZOE communicates its products, reaches consumers and develops long-term customer relationships.

Building for a New Generation of Customers

One area of focus during Donna's interim engagement was the launch of nz by NIC+ZOE, a collection designed to reach younger consumers.

The initiative reflects the wider challenge facing established consumer brands: maintaining the characteristics that built brand recognition while creating new reasons for younger audiences to engage.

Donna's expanded remit provides continuity as NIC+ZOE develops this approach across its brand, product and marketing activities.

A Continued Partnership With Leadership

Donna will continue working closely with Avra Myers and Taal Rachamimov, alongside teams across the company.

Her relationship with Avra also predates the current NIC+ZOE engagement. Donna previously worked with Avra at J.Jill, where she served as Head of Brand Marketing.

That existing relationship adds another layer of continuity to Donna's move into the permanent CMO role as NIC+ZOE enters its next phase.

A New Chapter at NIC+ZOE

Donna's appointment marks the next stage of a relationship that began with a five-month interim engagement and has now developed into a permanent marketing leadership role.

With responsibility spanning brand evolution, product, audience development and revenue growth, her CMO remit places marketing close to the broader direction of the business.

For NIC+ZOE, the appointment provides continuity while creating a broader platform for Donna and the company's teams to build what comes next.
