Acuity Analytics Appoints Jon O’Donnell as Chief Executive Officer

Acuity Analytics has appointed Jon O’Donnell as Chief Executive Officer, placing an experienced consulting and technology executive at the helm as the company advances its global expansion across financial services, artificial intelligence, data and digital services.

Jon joined Acuity Analytics as Chief Operating Officer in 2024 and has played a central role in shaping its strategy, strengthening its technology capabilities and supporting its business growth. His appointment follows a period of significant expansion, during which the company has evolved from a leading provider of financial services domain expertise with a smaller technology services business into what it describes as a global AI Operating Partner for the financial services industry.

The company now has more than 6,000 domain experts and over 1,000 AI, Data and Digital analysts, operating across 27 locations and serving approximately 800 clients globally.

Jon succeeds Robert King, who will transition to the role of Chairman at the end of 2026, according to the company's announcement.

From IBM Consulting to Leading Acuity's Transformation

Jon brings more than two decades of experience at IBM, where he held senior leadership positions across consulting, technology and cloud businesses.

Before joining Acuity Analytics, he led IBM's Business & Technology Consulting and Cloud Consulting divisions across EMEA. As a member of IBM Consulting's Global Leadership Team, he held leadership responsibilities across the UK, EMEA and North America, driving business growth, transformation and technology-led innovation.

His career at IBM involved leading large-scale consulting and technology operations, developing business capabilities and helping organisations navigate complex transformation programmes.

Acuity Analytics brought Jon into the business in 2024 as Chief Operating Officer, drawing on this experience to support its next phase of development. Since then, he has worked closely with the leadership team to strengthen the company's AI, Data and Digital capabilities while supporting its expansion across global financial services markets.

His experience also includes launching and scaling business units focused on AI and emerging technologies, combining commercial leadership with an understanding of how technology can address complex business challenges.

Jon holds a degree in Mathematics and Operational Research from the University of Southampton, a Diploma in Advanced Strategy from Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, and is CIMA-qualified.

Building a Global AI Operating Partner for Financial Services

Acuity Analytics' evolution reflects a broader shift in how financial institutions are approaching technology and business transformation.

Financial services organisations are increasingly looking beyond standalone technology implementations towards operating models that combine specialist industry knowledge, analytical capabilities and AI-driven execution.

The company positions itself as an AI Operating Partner for the financial services industry, bringing together deep domain expertise with AI, data and digital capabilities to support clients across complex business functions.

Its workforce includes more than 6,000 financial services domain experts and over 1,000 AI, Data and Digital analysts. With a presence in 27 locations and a client base of approximately 800 organisations globally, Acuity Analytics has built a sizeable operating footprint across the sector.

During Jon's tenure as COO, the business continued to expand its technology capabilities alongside its established domain expertise. This combination is central to its strategy of helping financial institutions apply AI and digital innovation to real-world business challenges.

The next stage will involve scaling these capabilities while maintaining the industry knowledge and delivery standards that underpin its client relationships.

Leading the Next Phase of AI-Enabled Expansion

As CEO, Jon will lead the company's strategic priorities, with a focus on accelerating growth, advancing AI-led innovation and deepening its position in the global financial services market.

The opportunity is significant. Financial institutions are exploring AI applications across risk management, compliance, operations, customer experience and decision-making. However, translating experimentation into enterprise-wide impact requires more than technology. It demands specialist domain knowledge, data expertise and an understanding of the regulatory and operational environments in which financial institutions function.

Acuity Analytics is positioning its combined workforce and technology capabilities around this requirement, bringing together financial services specialists and AI, Data and Digital teams.

Jon's background in large-scale consulting businesses and his experience overseeing Acuity's operational and strategic development provide continuity as the company moves into its next phase.

His appointment also marks a leadership transition for the organisation. Robert King will move into the Chairman role at the end of the year, providing a change in executive responsibilities while maintaining continuity at board level.

With a growing global footprint, an established financial services client base and an expanding technology business, Jon's challenge will be to translate the company's scale and capabilities into sustained growth as AI reshapes the financial services industry.
