Article content
Accenture has appointed Melissa Goveas as Managing Director, CEO Communications, adding senior communications leadership focused on the company's executive narrative and corporate storytelling.
In her new role, Melissa will work with Julie Sweet, Chair and CEO of Accenture, supporting communications around the company's business, clients and broader reinvention agenda. Julie Sweet has served as Accenture's CEO since 2019 and became chair in 2021.
Melissa's appointment comes as Accenture continues to position reinvention, technology and AI at the centre of its work with organisations across industries.
Leading CEO Communications
As Managing Director, CEO Communications, Melissa will be closely aligned with Accenture's executive leadership and CEO communications agenda.
The role involves helping articulate the company's direction and the work it is doing with clients as businesses navigate changes driven by artificial intelligence, technology and evolving operating models.
For a company operating at Accenture's scale, CEO communications plays an important role in connecting business strategy with a clear external narrative across clients, employees, partners and the broader technology ecosystem.
Telling the Accenture Reinvention Story
Melissa described her move as the start of a new chapter and highlighted the opportunity to help tell Accenture's story through its work with clients.
Accenture currently describes itself as the reinvention partner of choice, serving approximately 9,000 clients across more than 120 countries. The company has increasingly centred its market narrative on helping organisations create value through technology, AI and large-scale transformation.
That positioning creates a broad communications remit, particularly as enterprises look to understand how AI can translate into measurable business and organisational outcomes.
Working With Julie Sweet
Melissa will work directly with Julie Sweet, whose leadership has been closely associated with Accenture's focus on reinvention and the changing role of technology in business.
Sweet regularly engages with CEOs and business leaders on topics including AI, innovation, transformation and the future of work. Accenture's Reinvented with Accenture series, for example, features Sweet in conversations with client CEOs about transformation and reinvention.
Melissa's new role places her within that broader executive communications ecosystem, helping bring the company's leadership perspective and client stories to a wider audience.
Communications in the AI Era
Accenture has been reshaping its business and operating model around the growing importance of AI. The company has described AI and reinvention as central to how it helps clients respond to changing technology and business conditions.
Against that backdrop, CEO communications increasingly extends beyond traditional corporate messaging. It also involves explaining complex technology shifts, business transformation and leadership perspectives in ways that resonate with clients, employees and the wider market.
Melissa's appointment adds dedicated leadership to that effort as Accenture continues to build its narrative around the next phase of enterprise reinvention.
