Zurich Insurance Group Launches Global Capability Center in Hyderabad to Advance AI and Technology

Article content
Zurich Insurance Group has launched a new Global Capability Center (GCC) in Hyderabad, strengthening its focus on advancing technology and artificial intelligence to support its global operations. The move reflects a broader shift toward building AI-led capabilities within core business functions across the insurance value chain.
The Hyderabad center is designed as a strategic extension of Zurich’s global operating model, with end-to-end ownership spanning engineering, data, and business operations. It will embed AI-enabled ways of working into how solutions are developed and scaled across the organization.
As part of the expansion, Zurich has appointed Amit Kalra as Head of Zurich Capability Centers, effective July 2026. Based in India, he will oversee the company’s global capability center strategy and lead the development and growth of the Hyderabad hub.
The initiative underscores India’s growing role as a strategic technology and talent hub for multinational organizations. Hyderabad, in particular, continues to attract global capability centers due to its strong engineering ecosystem and expanding AI and data talent pool.
The launch also reflects how global insurers are rethinking their operating models, with GCCs evolving from cost-focused centers to innovation hubs that drive AI, data, and digital transformation at scale.
