Mphasis has acquired Theory and Practice Business Intelligence Inc., a Canada-based firm, as part of its strategy to deepen its capabilities in AI-led decision intelligence.

The acquisition brings Theory and Practice’s Continuum AI platform into Mphasis’ ecosystem. The platform combines artificial intelligence with behavioral economics to support enterprise decision-making across functions such as marketing, pricing, demand forecasting, and supply chain operations.

The deal includes an upfront payment of CAD 10 million, with additional milestone-based consideration of up to CAD 20 million over time.

Continuum AI is designed as a modular and scalable system that enables real-time decisioning by integrating predictive models, optimization frameworks, and reusable AI components. The platform is positioned as a “decision layer” that helps translate business objectives into actionable strategies.

For Mphasis, the acquisition aligns with its broader NeoIP strategy, which focuses on embedding AI across enterprise workflows. The addition of a decision intelligence layer reflects a shift from task automation toward systems that can reason over business context and outcomes.

The move also highlights a growing trend in enterprise AI, where organizations are investing in platforms that connect data, models, and decision frameworks rather than relying on isolated analytics tools. Decision intelligence is increasingly emerging as a critical layer in this stack, particularly for industries such as financial services, retail, and consumer goods.

As AI adoption matures, the focus is shifting toward enabling consistent, scalable decision-making across functions, with platforms like Continuum AI positioned to bridge the gap between data insights and business execution.
