First Orion launches free Spam Watchlist to help businesses manage phone number reputation

Article content

First Orion has launched Watchlist, a free feature within its Business Number Registration service that gives registered businesses visibility into which of their phone numbers have been tagged as Potential Spam on T-Mobile's network.

Available through First Orion's Customer Portal, Watchlist also provides information about observed calling behaviours that may have contributed to the labels. The feature is designed to help businesses understand how their outbound calls may be perceived by recipients and make informed adjustments to their calling practices.

Visibility Into Potential Spam Labels

Spam labelling can create challenges for businesses that rely on phone calls to reach customers. When legitimate calls are marked as potential spam, recipients may be less likely to answer, potentially leading to missed connections, lost opportunities and additional outreach.

Watchlist gives registered businesses visibility into phone numbers tagged on T-Mobile's network during the previous 24 hours. Alongside the status of those numbers, the service provides insights into calling behaviours that may be associated with the labels.

This information can help businesses better understand their phone number reputation and identify areas where their calling practices may need attention.

Insights Into Calling Behaviour

The service goes beyond showing whether a number has been tagged. It also provides information about observed behaviours that may be perceived as nuisance calling by recipients.

These insights are intended to help businesses review their outbound calling activity and understand factors that may contribute to spam labelling. First Orion said the service offers both spam-tag status and associated behaviour insights at no cost, distinguishing it from other registration services.

The information does not guarantee that a number's status will change, but it provides businesses with greater visibility into how their calls are being classified on the network.

Free Registration and Watchlist Access

Watchlist is available through First Orion's free Business Number Registration service. Registered businesses can log into the Customer Portal to review the status of their phone numbers and access the associated behaviour insights.

According to First Orion, businesses can complete the registration process in under five minutes and return to the portal to add or manage numbers as needed.

The company positions registration as an initial step in establishing and managing a business phone number's reputation.

Businesses can register their numbers and access the service through the First Orion Customer Portal.

Supporting More Trusted Business Communications

The launch addresses a broader challenge in business communications: ensuring legitimate calls can reach their intended recipients while helping reduce unwanted or misleading calls.

For organisations that depend on outbound calling, visibility into spam labels can support more informed decisions about calling practices and customer outreach. At the same time, better awareness of how calls are perceived can contribute to a more transparent mobile calling experience.

Josh Whitehurst, Head of Product at First Orion, said Watchlist provides businesses with transparency into calling behaviours associated with spam tags or mislabelling. He also highlighted First Orion's role in providing insight into behaviours observed on T-Mobile's network.

First Orion's Branded Communications Business

Watchlist expands First Orion's offering in business communications and phone number reputation management.

The company provides branded calling and communication solutions designed to help businesses identify themselves to recipients, strengthen trust and address challenges involving fraud, spoofing and unwanted communications.

By adding free access to spam-tag status and calling behaviour insights, First Orion is giving registered businesses another way to assess how their phone numbers are perceived on T-Mobile's network.
