Infosys and Handelsblatt Media Group Launch AI-Powered Editorial Engine to Transform Digital Storytelling

Article content

Infosys and Handelsblatt Media Group have unveiled Editorial Link Intelligence (ELI), an AI-powered editorial recommendation engine designed to enhance storytelling, enrich reader experiences, and modernize newsroom operations. The launch marks a significant milestone in the organizations' three-year collaboration focused on AI and digital innovation.

Built on Infosys Aster, the company's AI-amplified marketing suite, ELI was developed specifically for Handelsblatt and WirtschaftsWoche. The platform analyzes article content and metadata to intelligently recommend relevant internal links, enabling editors to provide additional context and improve content discoverability without disrupting existing editorial workflows.

The solution is designed to create value across the publishing ecosystem. For editorial teams, it automates and streamlines link curation, reducing manual effort and improving operational efficiency. For readers, it delivers richer content journeys and easier navigation through complex topics. For publishers, the platform aims to increase engagement, boost time spent on site, and strengthen audience loyalty in an increasingly competitive digital media landscape.

According to Handelsblatt Media Group leadership, the integration of ELI into the company's content management system helps journalists identify and connect relevant content while maintaining full editorial oversight. The approach reflects a growing industry focus on using AI to augment journalistic processes rather than replace editorial judgment.

The initiative was developed by Wongdoody, Infosys' human experience agency, and demonstrates how AI can support digital journalism through contextual content recommendations and workflow optimization. By helping editorial teams spend less time on repetitive tasks, the platform enables greater focus on reporting, research, and in-depth analysis.

As media organizations continue exploring AI-driven transformation, the launch of ELI highlights how intelligent automation is increasingly being applied to enhance audience engagement while preserving the quality and integrity of journalism. The project also reinforces Infosys' broader strategy of helping enterprises unlock AI value at scale through industry-specific solutions and platforms.
