WatchGuard Technologies has appointed Allison Clarke as Vice President of Partner Programs and GTM Strategy, creating a new leadership role focused on strengthening the company's channel-first model and creating a more connected experience for its partners.

Allison brings more than two decades of channel and go-to-market experience to WatchGuard, having held leadership positions across the cybersecurity industry, including at Sophos, SonicWall and McAfee.

A new focus on partner programs and GTM

In her new role, Allison will lead the strategy and development of WatchGuard's partner programs and go-to-market initiatives across its routes to market.

Her remit spans areas including partner programs, enablement, pricing, packaging and product strategy, with a focus on ensuring partner needs are reflected in how WatchGuard develops and delivers its commercial initiatives.

The appointment comes as cybersecurity vendors continue to work with partners across increasingly complex technology and customer environments.

Building on two decades of channel experience

Allison joins WatchGuard with more than 20 years of experience in channel and go-to-market leadership.

She spent nearly a decade at Sophos, where she worked on global channel strategy and partner programs, before most recently serving as Vice President of GTM and Partner Programs at SonicWall.

Earlier in her career, she held leadership roles at McAfee, contributing to the development and scaling of channel programs.

That experience gives Allison a broad perspective across partner strategy, program development and the operational requirements of working through indirect channels.

Strengthening WatchGuard's channel-first model

WatchGuard operates as a 100% channel-focused cybersecurity company, with managed service providers playing a central role in its route to market.

Allison's new role is therefore closely connected to how the company works with its partner ecosystem, from program design and enablement through to commercial models and product engagement.

WatchGuard says the objective is to make it easier for partners to work with the company while creating greater consistency across different routes to market.

Connecting partner needs with business strategy

A key part of Allison's remit will be bringing the partner perspective into broader business decisions.

That includes understanding how partners prefer to engage, what they need to grow their businesses and where changes to programs, pricing, packaging or products can simplify their experience.

For a channel-led cybersecurity business, those connections can influence how effectively partners take solutions to market and support customers.

Continuing to evolve the partner experience

WatchGuard has continued to invest in its partner ecosystem alongside its broader cybersecurity platform, which brings together network, endpoint, identity and cloud security capabilities.

With Allison leading Partner Programs and GTM Strategy, the company is adding a dedicated leadership focus around the intersection of partner experience and go-to-market execution.

Her appointment represents the next stage of her channel leadership career and adds another layer to WatchGuard's efforts to build a more aligned and accessible partner model.
