Vestmark has appointed Freedom Dumlao as Chief AI Officer, expanding his current role as Chief Technology Officer to lead the company’s artificial intelligence strategy.

In this dual capacity, Dumlao will oversee the integration of AI across Vestmark’s platform, with a focus on improving core functions such as portfolio management, trading and rebalancing, compliance monitoring, and tax-aware investment processes.

The move reflects a broader effort to embed intelligence into operational workflows and unify automation, optimization, and compliance within a single framework. Vestmark aims to enable wealth management firms to scale more efficiently while maintaining regulatory precision and transparency.

Dumlao noted that AI is becoming central to how the company develops and delivers its platform, particularly in areas requiring high levels of personalization and oversight.

CEO Karl Roessner highlighted Dumlao’s role in advancing the company’s AI initiatives, stating that the appointment reinforces Vestmark’s long-term focus on integrating intelligent capabilities across its platform.

Dumlao will continue working with engineering, data, and product teams to accelerate AI adoption, with an emphasis on practical, enterprise-ready implementation.

Vestmark supports a significant share of the managed account market, with over $2 trillion in assets and millions of investor accounts on its platform.
