Veeam has appointed Mika Yamamoto as Chief Marketing and Customer AI Officer, expanding its executive leadership as the company helps organizations address one of the defining enterprise challenges of the agentic AI era: building trust in data.

Introducing Mika in a leadership interview, Veeam highlighted her extensive experience across some of the technology industry's most influential organizations, including Gartner, Microsoft, SAP, Adobe, Amazon, and F5.

Putting Trusted Data at the Center of AI

Speaking about her decision to join Veeam, Mika said the company's unwavering customer-first culture was a key factor.

She emphasized that while organizations are rapidly investing in AI, many continue to face significant challenges around data quality, governance, and trust. According to research cited by Veeam, although AI adoption continues to accelerate, many enterprises remain unprepared because the data powering their AI initiatives is not yet fully trusted.

For Mika, helping organizations understand, secure, manage, and recover their data is fundamental to enabling successful AI adoption.

Defining the Role of Customer AI Officer

As Chief Marketing and Customer AI Officer, Yamamoto will oversee not only Veeam's global marketing strategy but also the company's customer AI initiatives, ensuring artificial intelligence enhances every stage of the customer journey.

She explained that AI should enable organizations to deliver more relevant, personalized, and informed customer experiences while preserving the human interactions that build long-term trust. Her role will focus on designing AI-enabled customer engagement models that seamlessly integrate automation with human expertise across every customer touchpoint.

She also shared a more personal perspective, revealing that despite frequently speaking at global events, she considers herself an introvert who values focused conversations and intentional reflection.
