Croma has appointed Suman Guha as its Chief Digital Officer, signaling a renewed focus on digital transformation and AI-led retail experiences.

Guha steps into the role after leading technology and product functions within the Tata Group ecosystem, including his tenure at Tata CLiQ and Tata Digital. His appointment comes as Croma looks to strengthen its omnichannel strategy and integrate digital capabilities more deeply across customer touchpoints.

In his new role, Guha is expected to focus on building a unified store and digital journey, including initiatives such as integrating customer identity across platforms, improving product discovery, and enabling data-driven purchase decisions through AI.

A key priority will also be equipping store associates with real-time digital tools to ensure consistency between online and offline experiences. This aligns with a broader industry shift toward blended retail models where physical and digital channels operate as a single system.

Guha brings over two decades of experience across retail, SaaS, and enterprise technology, with previous leadership roles at organizations such as Reliance Retail, Cisco, and Tesco. His background includes building scalable commerce platforms and leading large-scale digital transformation programs.

From an AI and martech perspective, the appointment reflects Croma’s push toward advisory-led retail, where personalization and intelligent assistance play a larger role in the buying journey. The company is aiming to move beyond transactional commerce toward a model that emphasizes guided decision-making and seamless customer experience.

The leadership move highlights how traditional retail players are investing in digital leadership to compete in an increasingly platform-driven and AI-enabled commerce landscape.
