Shwen Gwee has joined AbbVie as Head of Commercial AI Partnerships, stepping into a strategic leadership role focused on AI innovation, ecosystem partnerships, and commercial transformation across the healthcare value chain.

Sharing the announcement on LinkedIn, Shwen reflected on his four-year journey running independent consultancy Health Disruptors Inc., where he advised pharmaceutical companies, digital health startups, AI innovators, and accelerator ecosystems at the intersection of healthcare strategy, innovation, and artificial intelligence.

During that period, he also founded and led the globally recognized #GenAI4Pharma event series and launched the #GenAI4Pharma: Foresight newsletter, helping build conversations around the future of generative AI in healthcare and life sciences.

At AbbVie, Shwen will serve as a strategic advisor to commercial leadership teams on domain-specific AI strategy while helping map and engage the broader AI ecosystem. His role will also involve leading the company’s buy-build-partner framework across the commercial value chain as healthcare organizations increasingly accelerate enterprise AI adoption.
