Samuel Monti Joins SolarWinds as Chief Financial Officer to Support Its Next Phase of Growth

Article content
SolarWinds has appointed Samuel Monti as Chief Financial Officer, adding an experienced software executive to its leadership team as the company prepares for its next phase of growth and continues advancing its agentic AI strategy.
Samuel brings more than three decades of finance, accounting and operational leadership across public and private software companies, having held senior roles including CFO, COO and CEO. Most recently, he served as CFO of WP Engine, following executive finance leadership positions at Epicor Software and Khoros.
From WP Engine to SolarWinds
Samuel joins SolarWinds after serving as CFO at WP Engine, where he was responsible for global financial strategy and execution, including corporate development, accounting, tax, treasury, financial reporting and analysis.
Before WP Engine, Samuel served as Executive Vice President and CFO at Epicor Software. During his tenure, he helped build the company's SaaS financial profile strategy, which SolarWinds says contributed to double-digit recurring revenue growth and a threefold increase in enterprise valuation.
Earlier, Samuel served as CFO of Khoros, a customer engagement software company, adding further experience across recurring-revenue software businesses and technology-led transformation.
Bringing Operating Discipline to SolarWinds
In his new role, Samuel will oversee SolarWinds' financial organization while working closely with the leadership team on execution, capital allocation and sustainable growth.
His own priorities are closely aligned with the company's next phase: bringing greater operating clarity, enabling faster decision-making and ensuring capital is directed toward customers, partners, products and growth opportunities.
That mandate comes at a significant moment for SolarWinds as IT organizations face growing complexity and increasing pressure to adopt AI while maintaining visibility and control across their technology environments.
Supporting SolarWinds' AI Opportunity
SolarWinds is continuing to expand its product strategy around AI and agentic capabilities as organizations look for new ways to automate and manage increasingly complex IT environments.
The company recently announced its SW1 Agentic platform and expects to bring additional agentic AI capabilities to market later this year.
For Samuel, the opportunity extends beyond financial management. His background scaling software businesses gives him a mandate to help translate product and technology investments into sustainable commercial and operational progress.
A CFO With Broader Operating Experience
Samuel`s career spans more than traditional finance leadership. His previous roles across finance, operations and executive management have given him experience navigating SaaS growth, recurring-revenue models, transformation and capital strategy.
That broader operating perspective could be particularly relevant as SolarWinds balances investment in product innovation with the need to strengthen execution and drive long-term value.
His appointment also comes alongside a planned leadership transition at SolarWinds, with President and CEO Sudhakar Ramakrishna set to conclude his tenure on September 30, 2026. Cullen Childress will serve as interim CEO during the transition.
Looking Ahead
Samuel`s arrival places an experienced software finance and operations leader at the center of SolarWinds' next chapter.
With the company investing in agentic AI while continuing to serve a large global customer and partner base, his focus on operating clarity, capital deployment and sustainable growth will be important as SolarWinds works to turn its technology roadmap into durable business outcomes.
