PwC India has appointed Agasti Kaulgi as Director, Media Relations and Communications, marking a new chapter in his career following nearly seven years with Tata Motors.

Agasti shared the move as an opportunity to work across sectors and engage with new perspectives, describing his transition to a Big Four professional services firm as an important next step.

His appointment brings experience spanning corporate communications, public relations, editorial work and brand storytelling to PwC India's communications function.

From Tata Motors to professional services

Before joining PwC India, Agasti served as Deputy General Manager, Corporate Communications at Tata Motors. During his tenure, he worked across corporate and brand communications, with responsibilities spanning media relations, reputation management, content strategy and leadership positioning.

His work also included communications around product launches, industry events and executive engagement initiatives.

The move to PwC India represents a shift from the automotive sector to a professional services environment that works across industries and business challenges.

A career spanning communications and journalism

Agasti's professional background extends beyond corporate communications. Earlier, he worked at GoAir in a corporate communications role and spent more than eight years at Worldwide Media, including as Senior Features Editor at BBC TopGear Magazine.

That editorial experience provided a foundation in storytelling, content development and audience engagement, complementing his later work in corporate reputation and media relations.

The combination of journalism and corporate communications is relevant to roles that require organisations to communicate clearly with media, stakeholders and broader audiences.

Communications across sectors

At PwC India, Agasti will take on a role focused on media relations and communications within a professional services business operating across multiple sectors.

Unlike communications roles centred on a single product category, the professional services environment brings a wider range of business issues, industry perspectives and stakeholder priorities into the communications mix.

Agasti's experience across automotive, aviation and media provides a varied background as he begins working in this new setting.

Building on experience in reputation and storytelling

Corporate communications increasingly involves more than media outreach. It also requires organisations to maintain consistent narratives, communicate leadership perspectives and respond to changing stakeholder expectations.

Agasti's career has included work across media engagement, reputation management, executive communications and editorial storytelling.

His appointment at PwC India brings these areas of experience into a role that will engage with the firm's work and perspectives across sectors.

A new chapter at PwC India

Agasti's move marks his first role with a Big Four firm, according to his announcement. He described the transition as an opportunity to take on new challenges and learn from a broader range of industries and perspectives.

As he moves from Tata Motors to PwC India, his next chapter brings together his experience in corporate communications and journalism within a professional services environment.
