Figma has appointed Tanaya Sharma as Head of Commercial Business for Asia, bringing extensive regional commercial leadership experience to the design and product development platform.

Tanaya joins Figma after eight years at Mixpanel, where she helped build the company's APAC business from the ground up following its regional launch in 2018.

Her move comes as Figma continues to position its platform at the intersection of product, design and engineering workflows, with Tanaya set to lead the company's commercial activities across Asia.

Leading Figma's Commercial Business Across Asia

As Head of Commercial Business, Asia, Tanaya will lead Figma's commercial efforts across the region, working with customers, partners and teams as the company expands its presence in Asian markets.

Her experience building an APAC business from an early stage provides a strong regional foundation for the role, particularly across markets where enterprise adoption of collaborative product development and design tools continues to evolve.

The position will bring together commercial strategy, customer relationships and regional market development.

Eight Years Building Mixpanel's APAC Business

Tanaya spent eight years at Mixpanel, where she was involved in establishing and developing the company's APAC operations from its regional launch in 2018.

Over that period, she worked closely with customers, colleagues and partners while helping build the business across the region.

Her experience also spans collaboration with Product, Design and Engineering organisations, giving her exposure to the increasingly connected workflows that underpin modern product development.

Bringing Product, Design and Engineering Together

Tanaya's move to Figma reflects her view that the boundaries between Product, Design and Engineering have increasingly converged.

She highlighted this convergence as one of the reasons for joining Figma, pointing to the company's position at the centre of these workflows.

Figma's collaborative platform brings together teams involved in product development, from early ideation and design through to development and delivery.

Figma and the AI Era

The convergence of product, design and engineering is also taking place alongside the rapid adoption of artificial intelligence.

As organisations introduce AI into software development and product workflows, collaboration between technical and creative teams is becoming increasingly interconnected.

Tanaya described Figma's canvas as being well positioned within this evolving environment, particularly as teams look for ways to move ideas into production more efficiently.

Her new role will place her close to this shift as Figma continues developing its commercial presence across Asia.

Expanding Commercial Reach in Asia

Tanaya's appointment adds regional commercial leadership as Figma continues to build its presence across international markets.

Her experience in establishing APAC operations, combined with a decade of working closely with product, design and engineering teams, provides a perspective spanning both regional growth and the evolving workflows of modern technology organisations.

For Figma, that experience will be relevant as the company works with more businesses across Asia and expands the commercial reach of its platform.

A New Chapter at Figma

For Tanaya, the appointment marks the beginning of a new chapter after eight years at Mixpanel.

Her move brings together regional commercial experience with a long-standing understanding of product, design and engineering organisations.

At Figma, she will lead the commercial business across Asia as the company continues to develop its role in collaborative product development and the changing workflows of the AI era.
