dentsu has appointed Prerna Mehrotra as Chief Client Officer, APAC and CEO, Singapore, expanding her leadership remit across the region and the Singapore market.
The appointment comes as Prakash Kamdar concludes a 15-year tenure with dentsu, during which he held senior leadership positions across Singapore and Southeast Asia. Prerna's new role is effective October 1, 2026.
Expanding Prerna's Regional Leadership Role
Prerna has been with dentsu since 2016 and has held senior leadership roles across the organisation.
For the past three years, she has served as Chief Client Officer, APAC, alongside her role as CEO, Media, APAC. In her expanded remit, she will now also lead dentsu's Singapore business as CEO.
Her experience spans client leadership, media, business strategy, value creation, P&L management and organisational change across APAC.
Taking the Lead in Singapore
Singapore plays an important role within dentsu's APAC operations, serving as both a significant local market and a location where clients shape regional priorities.
In her new role, Prerna will focus on connecting the strengths of the Singapore business with dentsu's wider regional capabilities, with an emphasis on client relationships, people and integrated capabilities.
Prerna said she has worked alongside the Singapore team for the past seven years and intends to build on the foundations established under Prakash's leadership.
Connecting Client and Regional Capabilities
The expanded role brings together Prerna's regional client leadership experience with responsibility for a major dentsu market.
Dentsu's approach increasingly centres on bringing together media, creative, customer experience and other capabilities around client needs. Prerna's existing regional remit gives her experience working across these capabilities and with clients in multiple APAC markets.
Her focus in Singapore will include deepening client partnerships, bringing together local and regional capabilities, and creating opportunities for growth and innovation.
Building on a Decade at dentsu
Prerna joined dentsu in 2016 as Head of Investment and has since taken on progressively broader leadership responsibilities.
She became CEO, Media, APAC in 2021 and was appointed Chief Client Officer, APAC in 2023, expanding her remit to focus on client experience across dentsu's creative, media and customer experience capabilities.
Her new Singapore leadership role therefore adds a market-level responsibility to an already broad regional leadership portfolio.
A Transition After 15 Years of Leadership
Prerna succeeds Prakash Kamdar as CEO, Singapore as he concludes a 15-year tenure with dentsu.
Kamdar joined the organisation through its acquisition of digital agency The Upper Storey in 2011 and subsequently held leadership roles across Singapore, Indonesia and Southeast Asia. He became CEO, Singapore in 2019 and most recently served as CEO, Clients & Solutions, Southeast Asia.
Dentsu has described his tenure as a period of significant transformation and capability integration across Singapore and Southeast Asia.
A New Chapter for dentsu Singapore
Prerna's appointment brings regional client leadership and Singapore market responsibility under one executive remit.
As she takes on the role, her focus will be on building on the Singapore business's existing foundations while connecting its capabilities and talent more closely with opportunities across APAC.
