Mastercard has appointed Anjali D'Mello as Director, ESEA Communications, bringing new leadership to the company's communications function across East Southeast Asia.

In her new role, Anjali will lead communications across the ESEA region, working with Mastercard's leadership and teams to shape the region's narrative and communicate its priorities across some of Asia's most dynamic markets.

Her appointment brings together regional market engagement and strategic communications, with a focus on building connections across ESEA while supporting Mastercard's continued momentum in the region.

Leading Communications Across ESEA

As Director, ESEA Communications, Anjali will be responsible for developing and leading communications initiatives across East Southeast Asia.

Her remit will involve working closely with regional leaders and teams to articulate Mastercard's priorities, strengthen its corporate narrative, and ensure its communications reflect the diverse markets and audiences across the region.

The role places her at the intersection of regional business strategy, leadership engagement, and storytelling.

Shaping Mastercard's Regional Narrative

ESEA represents a diverse collection of markets with distinct economic, business, and consumer dynamics. Effective regional communications therefore require a balance between a consistent corporate narrative and a strong understanding of local market contexts.

Anjali's focus on building connections across the region will be central to her new role, helping Mastercard communicate its direction while engaging stakeholders across individual markets.

Her appointment also comes as Mastercard continues to build its presence and momentum across Asia, where digital payments and broader financial technology adoption remain important areas of growth.

Working Across a Strong Regional Leadership Team

Anjali joins Mastercard's ESEA communications organisation alongside a broader group of regional leaders.

In announcing her move, she thanked Donald Ong, Barkha Patel-Zinzuwadia, Dheeraj Raina, Julie Nestor, Aileen Goh, Jason Crasto, and Sharad Jain for the opportunity and highlighted the strength of the team around her.

Her comments point to a collaborative approach to the role, with communications positioned as a function closely connected to Mastercard's broader regional leadership and business priorities.

Bringing Regional Perspective to Communications

For multinational companies operating across Asia, communications leadership increasingly requires an understanding of both regional strategy and individual market dynamics.

Anjali's new remit across ESEA gives her responsibility for connecting those perspectives, helping Mastercard build a cohesive regional story while remaining relevant to local stakeholders.

Her appointment adds dedicated leadership to a communications function supporting Mastercard's continued growth and engagement across East Southeast Asia.
