Article content
Aleph has appointed Max Ku as Business Head for Pinterest in Singapore and export markets, adding an experienced digital media and advertising leader to its Pinterest business in the region.
Ku brings more than 30 years of experience across digital media and advertising, with previous leadership roles at Spotify and Tripadvisor. He is also the founder of Lumisprout Works Pte Ltd, a boutique consultancy.
Ku shared the appointment publicly after spending nearly a month in the role, noting that the initial period had helped him understand how Pinterest fits into the planning and decision-making process for consumers and brands.
Leading Pinterest's Business in Singapore and Export Markets
In his new role, Ku will lead Aleph's Pinterest business across Singapore and export markets. His remit comes as brands and agencies continue to explore how digital platforms can influence consumer discovery and purchasing decisions.
Pinterest occupies a distinctive position in the digital media landscape, with users often turning to the platform to explore ideas, plan projects and discover products. For advertisers, this creates opportunities to reach audiences while they are researching possibilities and considering what to do next.
Bringing Decades of Digital Media Experience
Ku's career spans more than three decades in digital media and advertising, including leadership roles at Spotify and Tripadvisor. His background also includes founding Lumisprout Works Pte Ltd, a boutique consultancy.
This experience provides a foundation for working with brands and agencies navigating changes in digital discovery, advertising strategy and audience engagement.
His appointment brings that experience to Aleph's work with Pinterest across Singapore and export markets.
Pinterest and the Role of Consumer Intent
Ku has highlighted consumer intent as a defining characteristic of Pinterest, observing that users often visit the platform to plan rather than simply browse.
For marketers, that distinction can influence how campaigns are developed and measured. Reaching consumers earlier in their decision-making process can help brands become part of the consideration set before a purchase decision is made.
Ku has also pointed to the importance of discoverability, noting that strong visual content needs an effective discovery strategy to reach the right audiences.
Working With Brands and Agencies
As Business Head, Ku will engage with brands and agencies exploring Pinterest's role in their marketing strategies.
His early observations emphasise the importance of understanding how the platform fits within a broader media mix, how campaigns can reach audiences during the planning stage, and how visual content can be made easier to discover.
These considerations are relevant to marketers seeking to connect brand visibility with consumer intent across digital channels.
A New Chapter at Aleph
Ku's appointment adds experienced digital media leadership to Aleph's Pinterest business in Singapore and export markets.
As brands continue to evaluate the role of visual discovery platforms within their advertising strategies, his experience across digital media and advertising will inform the company's engagement with advertisers and agency partners.
