Riverbed launches Network 360 to bring agentic AI into network operations

Riverbed has introduced new Network 360 offerings that combine 360-degree network visibility with agentic AI, giving network operations teams a more connected way to investigate performance issues, identify root causes and anticipate emerging problems.

Announced on September 16, 2026, the new capabilities bring Riverbed IQ and Riverbed Q directly into its AppResponse and NetProfiler solutions while extending network visibility through NPM+ across remote users, Zero Trust and public cloud environments.

The launch reflects a broader shift in network operations as applications, users and infrastructure increasingly span environments that traditional monitoring tools cannot observe through a single lens.

Bringing agentic AI closer to network evidence

At the centre of Network 360 is Riverbed IQ, the company's intelligence layer that applies causal, predictive, generative and agentic AI across connected operational data.

Riverbed Q adds a conversational interface, allowing network professionals to investigate issues using natural-language queries rather than moving between multiple dashboards and tools.

Together, the technologies are designed to correlate network evidence, identify likely causes, recommend next actions and allow teams to drill down into underlying flows, packets and other evidence when required.

Extending visibility across complex environments

Modern enterprise networks increasingly extend beyond traditional data centres. Remote employees, public cloud services and Zero Trust architectures can create additional visibility gaps, particularly where infrastructure is outside an organisation's direct control.

Riverbed NPM+ is designed to address this challenge by extending network observability across remote users, Zero Trust environments, public cloud and other networks.

The result is a broader pool of network evidence that can be combined with AI-powered analysis and guidance.

Making AppResponse and NetProfiler more intelligent

Network 360 also brings Riverbed IQ and Riverbed Q natively into AppResponse and NetProfiler, two established sources of network intelligence.

AppResponse provides full-fidelity packet capture and analysis, while NetProfiler delivers flow monitoring and analytics at enterprise scale.

By bringing AI capabilities directly into these environments, Riverbed is connecting the evidence network teams already use with tools designed to help interpret that evidence and guide investigation.

The company says this combination can help teams isolate performance issues more quickly, understand user and business impact, predict emerging risks and accelerate resolution.

From reactive troubleshooting to guided investigation

The broader proposition behind Network 360 is a move away from manually piecing together fragmented evidence during an incident.

Richard Tworek, Chief Technology Officer at Riverbed, said the company's approach is intended to turn network evidence from hybrid environments into contextual insight, faster root-cause identification, predictive awareness and recommended next actions.

That approach reflects a growing role for AI in IT operations, where the objective is increasingly not just to identify an issue but to understand why it is happening, what could happen next and what action should follow.

Four components of Network 360

Riverbed's NPM 360 offering brings together several capabilities within a broader network observability environment:

  • Riverbed IQ: A SaaS-based AI intelligence and automation layer designed to correlate evidence, identify issues and accelerate resolution.
  • Riverbed Q: A conversational AI interface that allows network teams to investigate issues and uncover insights using natural-language queries.
  • NPM+: Endpoint-based network observability extending visibility across remote users, Zero Trust, public cloud and networks outside direct enterprise ownership.
  • Professional Services: Support for designing, deploying and operationalising Network 360 environments alongside AppResponse or NetProfiler.

Building toward more proactive NetOps

Riverbed's Network 360 launch comes as network teams face increasingly distributed environments and growing volumes of operational data.

The company's broader agentic AI strategy is focused on moving IT operations from detection and prediction toward increasingly automated action, while maintaining governance and visibility over AI-driven decisions.

For NetOps teams, Network 360 represents Riverbed's attempt to connect deep network telemetry with AI-driven investigation and guidance, creating a foundation for faster resolution today and more proactive network operations over time.

Riverbed says NPM 360 is available immediately and is initially offered at no additional premium to current AppResponse and NetProfiler pricing.
