Tata Motors has appointed Deepanjan Roy as Chief Marketing Officer for its Commercial Vehicles business, marking his return to the company at a time when the segment is undergoing strategic transformation.

In this role, Roy will lead marketing strategy across the commercial vehicles portfolio, focusing on strengthening brand positioning, customer engagement, and market expansion. His appointment aligns with the company’s efforts to sharpen its go-to-market approach in a highly competitive and evolving mobility landscape.

Roy joins from Tractors and Farm Equipment Limited (TAFE), where he served as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Prior to that, he had a brief stint as Vice President of Cargo at Air India, adding cross-industry experience spanning automotive, agriculture, and aviation.

This marks his second tenure with Tata Motors, where he previously spent nearly 15 years across various leadership roles. His return signals a focus on leveraging institutional knowledge alongside fresh perspectives to drive marketing-led growth in the commercial vehicles business.

The move comes as Tata Motors continues to navigate shifts in demand, electrification, and digital adoption across the commercial vehicle ecosystem.
