Article content
Sarvam AI has appointed Sashikumar Sreedharan as its President and Chief Business Officer, adding an experienced enterprise technology leader to the company's senior leadership team.
Sreedharan joins Sarvam after serving as Managing Director of Google Cloud India. His career also includes leadership roles at Microsoft India and Happiest Minds, giving him experience across enterprise technology, cloud and digital transformation.
The appointment comes as Sarvam continues to develop its full-stack sovereign AI platform for Indian enterprises, developers and government institutions.
Bringing enterprise and cloud experience to Sarvam
Sreedharan brings extensive experience working with enterprise and public-sector technology environments.
During his time at Google Cloud India, he was involved in expanding sovereign cloud capabilities in India, an area that has become increasingly important as organisations seek greater control over data, infrastructure and technology operations.
His experience is relevant to Sarvam's focus on building AI infrastructure and solutions designed around India's specific requirements.
From Google Cloud to sovereign AI
Sreedharan's move comes at a time when sovereign technology has become an increasingly important part of India's digital infrastructure agenda.
Sarvam positions itself as India's full-stack sovereign AI platform, with capabilities spanning foundational models, infrastructure and applications. The company says its systems are developed and operated in India, with a focus on Indian languages, context and population-scale applications.
For Sreedharan, the role brings together his experience in cloud and enterprise technology with a rapidly developing AI market.
A broader business mandate
As President and Chief Business Officer, Sreedharan will take on a leadership role spanning Sarvam's business growth and engagement with enterprises and public-sector organisations.
The company has been expanding its commercial and deployment focus alongside its AI research and infrastructure work. Sarvam's Series B announcement said the company is building across training and inference infrastructure, frontier model research and go-to-market efforts covering enterprises, developers and government.
That combination creates a broad mandate for business leadership as Sarvam moves toward larger-scale adoption.
Building AI for Indian enterprises
Sarvam's technology strategy is centred on AI designed for India's languages and operating environment.
Its current platform includes speech, text and document models supporting Indian languages, alongside applications such as voice agents, document intelligence and enterprise AI workflows.
The company is also working with enterprises on production-scale AI deployments. For example, Sarvam says its voice-agent platform has supported more than one crore calls for Mahindra Finance across sales, collections and employee engagement.
Sreedharan's enterprise background could therefore become relevant as Sarvam expands from technology development into broader commercial adoption.
Expanding the next phase of Sarvam AI
The appointment also follows a significant period of expansion for Sarvam.
In June 2026, the company announced the first close of a $300 million Series B at a post-money valuation of $1.5 billion, with funding directed toward frontier model research, compute and expansion of its forward-deployed enterprise and government efforts.
With Sreedharan joining as President and Chief Business Officer, Sarvam adds another senior enterprise technology leader as it works to translate its sovereign AI capabilities into wider adoption across India's enterprise and public-sector landscape.
