Procter & Gamble (P&G) has promoted Thomas Fiedler to Senior Vice President, Global Business Services CIO, entrusting him with one of the company's most strategic technology leadership roles as it continues advancing enterprise-wide digital transformation.
The appointment places Fiedler at the center of P&G's global technology strategy, where data, artificial intelligence, and enterprise platforms are becoming increasingly critical to driving operational excellence and business innovation.
Leading Enterprise Technology at Scale
Announcing the promotion on LinkedIn, Fiedler shared that he officially assumed the role on July 1, describing it as an exciting new chapter in his career.
Within Global Business Services (GBS), he will operate at the intersection of five of P&G's core functions: Product Supply, Finance, Human Resources, Research & Development, and Brand Services & Consumer Response. Working closely with enterprise technology teams and business leaders, his organization will help deliver technology capabilities that support operations across the global enterprise.
Fiedler emphasized that success in the role depends on deep collaboration across functions, reinforcing technology as a shared business capability rather than a standalone function.
Driving Data, AI and SAP Transformation
Fiedler outlined three strategic priorities that will shape his leadership agenda.
The first is data, focused on building AI-ready data foundations that provide business leaders with trusted insights to support decision-making. As much of P&G's operational data originates within Global Business Services, strengthening these capabilities will be central to future transformation initiatives.
The second priority is artificial intelligence, with an emphasis on moving AI from experimentation into everyday business operations. This includes embedding responsible AI practices across enterprise workflows while transforming how software is developed and how employees work.
The third priority is SAP, where Fiedler will oversee the enterprise platform strategy supporting P&G's long-term modernization agenda. His mandate includes advancing a unified SAP environment that will continue powering the company's global operations through 2030 and beyond.
A Longstanding Commitment to AI
Reflecting on his journey, Fiedler noted that he wrote his academic thesis on artificial intelligence in 1994, when AI remained largely theoretical.
Today, he finds himself leading enterprise-scale execution of technologies that have become central to how global organizations operate, innovate, and compete.
Expressing gratitude for the trust placed in him, he highlighted his excitement for working alongside his team to accelerate innovation while scaling enterprise capabilities across the organization.
Looking Ahead
Fiedler's promotion underscores Procter & Gamble's continued investment in enterprise technology leadership as AI, data platforms, and intelligent automation become increasingly integral to business transformation.
His expanded leadership role positions him to help shape how one of the world's largest consumer goods companies modernizes its technology foundation while enabling future growth through data-driven innovation.
