Matthew Burlak has joined Databricks as Regional Vice President in Canada, marking a significant leadership move at a time when enterprise AI, data infrastructure, and governance are rapidly converging.

Before joining Databricks, Matthew spent four and a half years at Stripe, where he became the company’s first go-to-market employee in Canada and helped scale its presence into a major force within the country’s technology ecosystem.

In announcing the move, Matthew highlighted the increasing importance of enterprise data and governance as organizations shift toward agentic AI workflows and enterprise-scale AI adoption. He also emphasized Databricks’ positioning at the center of data, AI, and enterprise infrastructure as businesses navigate the next phase of AI transformation.

His appointment reflects the growing demand for leaders who understand both enterprise growth strategy and the evolving AI infrastructure landscape, particularly as organizations move beyond foundational models toward operational AI systems built around secure, governed enterprise data.

At Databricks, Matthew will work closely with Canadian enterprises as they accelerate AI adoption and modernize their data ecosystems for the next generation of intelligent workflows and analytics.
