Rightsline has appointed Mark Johnson as Chief Product Officer, strengthening its product leadership as the company looks to advance its platform for managing and monetizing intellectual property across media, entertainment, sports and publishing.

Mark shared the move on LinkedIn, highlighting Rightsline's position in the rights and IP management category, its long-standing customer relationships and the potential for agentic AI to expand what the platform can do for customers.

Expanding Rights and IP Management

Rightsline provides technology that helps organizations manage intellectual property across its lifecycle, including rights, licensing, availability, royalties and settlement.

As Chief Product Officer, Mark will lead the company's product direction and help evolve the platform around the changing needs of media and entertainment businesses.

A key opportunity will be applying agentic AI to complex rights and licensing workflows, enabling customers to use automation and intelligence across processes that have traditionally required significant manual effort and domain expertise.

Building on a Category-Creating Platform

Mark noted that Rightsline's customers are deeply embedded in its platform and have demonstrated strong long-term engagement with the product.

That customer connection provides a foundation for the company's next phase as it looks to expand the capabilities of its platform and create new ways for customers to manage increasingly complex IP portfolios.

His appointment comes as media and entertainment companies face growing complexity around content rights, licensing structures, distribution and revenue management.

Product Leadership for the Next Chapter

Mark will work closely with Rightsline CEO Patrick Arkeveld and the company's broader leadership team to advance the product strategy.

He also acknowledged the backing of Hg and Farouk Hussein as Rightsline enters its next phase of development.

With agentic AI creating new possibilities for enterprise software, Rightsline is positioned to explore how intelligent systems can move beyond reporting and workflow support toward actively helping customers manage complex rights and licensing operations.

Looking Ahead

The convergence of intellectual property management, automation and AI is creating new opportunities for media and entertainment companies to improve how they manage rights and monetize content.

With Mark joining as Chief Product Officer, Rightsline is strengthening its product leadership as it looks to build on its established platform and explore the next generation of AI-powered capabilities.
