DBS Bank has appointed Jayme Metcalfe as Managing Director, Group Head of Data & AI Governance, strengthening its leadership as the bank continues to scale its data and artificial intelligence capabilities.

Sharing the move on LinkedIn, Jayme highlighted DBS's customer-focused and innovation-driven culture following his first week with the organization. He also thanked colleagues at Standard Chartered for the previous chapter of his career.

Leading Data and AI Governance

As Managing Director, Group Head of Data & AI Governance, Jayme will be responsible for strengthening the governance frameworks that underpin DBS's use of data and AI across the group.

The role places governance at the intersection of data quality, responsible AI, risk management, regulatory expectations and business innovation, as financial institutions increasingly embed AI into customer and operational processes.

Building Trust Around AI

For banks, scaling AI requires more than technology investment. Strong governance is essential to ensure data is managed effectively and AI systems operate with appropriate controls, accountability and oversight.

Jayme's mandate comes as DBS continues to build on its reputation for digital innovation, with data and AI increasingly central to how financial institutions improve customer experiences and operate at scale.

Looking Ahead

Jayme's appointment adds experienced leadership to DBS's data and AI governance agenda at a time when financial services organizations are navigating the rapid adoption of generative and agentic AI.

His focus will be on helping DBS balance innovation with the governance, risk and accountability needed to deploy data and AI responsibly across a global banking organization.
