TCS to Acquire Porsche’s IT Arm MHP for $373 Million in Major AI Mobility Partnership

Article content

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is set to acquire MHP, Porsche AG’s management and IT consulting subsidiary, for approximately $373 million, in a transaction that will deepen the two companies’ collaboration around artificial intelligence, digital transformation and the future of mobility.

The acquisition is part of a broader five-year strategic partnership between TCS and Porsche, valued at approximately $1.4 billion, positioning AI and technology transformation at the center of Porsche’s future mobility and business strategy.

TCS Expands Its Automotive Technology Footprint

MHP, headquartered in Ludwigsburg, Germany, has more than 4,500 employees and specializes in management and IT consulting across automotive and industrial sectors.

Its capabilities span business consulting, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, SAP transformation, manufacturing digitalization and software-defined mobility.

Following the transaction, MHP is expected to retain its established brand and continue operating as an independent consultancy. The company will also continue its relationship with Porsche, while gaining access to TCS's global technology, engineering and AI capabilities.

AI at the Center of the Porsche Partnership

The wider partnership will focus on applying AI across key areas of Porsche’s value chain, including engineering, manufacturing, operations and customer experience.

TCS and Porsche also plan to establish an AI Mobility Center of Excellence designed to help industrialize AI applications and scale them across Porsche’s mobility ecosystem.

The collaboration reflects the broader shift taking place across the automotive industry as software, data and AI become increasingly important to vehicle development, manufacturing and customer experiences.

Combining Automotive Expertise With Global Technology Scale

For TCS, the MHP acquisition provides deeper access to automotive and industrial consulting expertise while strengthening its ability to support large-scale transformation programs in Europe.

For Porsche, the partnership combines MHP’s industry knowledge with TCS’s global delivery capabilities, engineering expertise and investments in AI.

TCS CEO K. Krithivasan said the combination of TCS’s capabilities in AI, engineering, technology and business transformation with MHP’s automotive consulting expertise would help Porsche accelerate innovation across its value chain.

A New Model for AI-Powered Mobility

The transaction illustrates how technology partnerships in automotive are increasingly moving beyond traditional IT services.

As automakers invest in software-defined products, connected experiences and AI-enabled operations, technology providers with deep industry expertise are becoming strategic partners in transformation rather than simply external service providers.

The TCS-Porsche partnership brings together automotive consulting, enterprise technology and AI under a multi-year framework, with MHP providing an established bridge between those capabilities.

Looking Ahead

The acquisition remains subject to customary regulatory and competition approvals.

If completed, the transaction will give TCS a stronger platform in automotive and industrial transformation while giving MHP access to TCS’s global scale and technology capabilities.

For Porsche, the partnership provides a pathway to accelerate AI adoption across its business while maintaining MHP as an important technology and consulting partner.

The companies’ focus on AI-powered mobility also signals how the next phase of automotive transformation will increasingly depend on the integration of AI, data, engineering and software across the entire enterprise.
