Starcloud, a space infrastructure company focused on building AI compute capacity in orbit, has raised $250 million in new funding at a $2.3 billion valuation.

The round was led by Manhattan West, with new investment from NVIDIA, Cisco Investments, Cedar Capital, Goanna Capital Management, and Standard Capital. Existing backers including Benchmark, EQT Ventures & Growth, Soma Capital, NFX, and Seven Seven Six also participated.

The new capital will support Starcloud's efforts to expand its orbital AI infrastructure and significantly increase its satellite production capacity.

Building AI Compute in Orbit

Starcloud is developing infrastructure designed to bring AI computing capabilities into space. Its approach is centered on deploying compute capacity in orbit, creating a new model for how future AI infrastructure could be built and operated.

The company's latest funding will allow it to accelerate development and production as demand for AI compute continues to grow.

The investment from technology players including NVIDIA and Cisco Investments also highlights growing interest in the potential intersection of AI infrastructure, space systems and next-generation computing.

Scaling Satellite Production

A major part of Starcloud's next phase will be expanding its manufacturing capabilities.

The company is preparing to move into a new 100,000-square-foot facility, which it says will enable production to scale to 100 satellites per week.

The expansion is intended to provide the manufacturing capacity needed to support Starcloud's growing orbital infrastructure ambitions.
