Siena AI has raised $17 million in Series A funding to expand its AI platform for consumer brands, moving beyond customer-support automation toward a shared system that connects customer interactions across support, shopping and social channels.

The round was led by York IE, with participation from Joyance Partners, Aglaé Ventures, Sierra Ventures and SuperAngel.Fund. According to Siena's announcement, the funding brings its total capital raised to approximately $29.7 million.

Founded by Andrei Negrau and Lisa Popovici, Siena began with AI-powered customer service and is now developing what it calls an Agent of Record for consumer brands. The platform aims to give AI agents and human teams a shared understanding of customers, allowing information from one interaction to inform the next.

From customer support to a broader AI platform

Siena initially focused on helping consumer brands automate customer-service interactions while maintaining an empathetic approach.

As customers began asking for support across other business functions, the company expanded its offering to include capabilities for social engagement, shopping and customer intelligence.

The shift reflects a challenge in conventional customer experience technology. Support, marketing, commerce and social teams often use separate systems, leaving customer information fragmented across channels.

Siena's approach is to connect these interactions so that the context gathered in one part of the customer journey can inform decisions elsewhere.

Building an Agent of Record

Siena describes its Agent of Record as a shared intelligence layer that connects AI agents and human teams across the customer relationship.

The platform brings together conversations with information such as orders, subscriptions, reviews, loyalty data and brand knowledge. Its Siena Intelligence and Siena Memory capabilities are designed to retain and carry forward relevant context as customers move between interactions.

For example, feedback about a product return could inform a future shopping recommendation. If similar complaints appear across multiple customers, that information could also help a product or operations team identify a recurring issue.

The objective is to make customer interactions useful beyond the individual conversation, giving teams a more connected view of customer needs and business performance.

Connecting support, shopping and social

The funding will support Siena's development of more autonomous agents and the shared infrastructure behind them.

Its offering spans customer service, shopping and social engagement, with the broader platform designed to help brands manage customer interactions across different channels.

This approach addresses the growing demand for AI systems that can do more than answer questions. Businesses are exploring agents that can assist with product discovery, respond to customer feedback, support purchasing decisions and help resolve service issues.

Connecting these capabilities requires consistent customer context, while also allowing each agent to operate within the policies and requirements of its specific task.

Adoption across consumer brands

Siena says it works with hundreds of consumer brands, including FIGS, SPANX, HexClad and Comfrt, and has automated hundreds of millions of customer interactions.

The company also describes applications that extend customer-service data into wider business decisions. These include identifying patterns in shipping complaints, surfacing recurring product feedback and helping teams analyse customer conversations.

Such use cases illustrate how information gathered during service interactions can contribute to decisions across product development, marketing and operations.

Investors back the next phase

York IE led the $17 million Series A, joined by Joyance Partners and existing investors Aglaé Ventures, Sierra Ventures and SuperAngel.Fund.

The capital will help Siena develop more autonomous agents and expand the shared infrastructure that allows them to work from accumulated customer context.

As businesses introduce more AI agents across their operations, the company is positioning its platform as a way to connect those systems rather than deploy them as isolated tools.

Making AI interactions more connected

Consumer brands are increasingly exploring how AI can support customer engagement across the full journey, from product discovery and purchasing to support and retention.

Siena's funding marks its next step in building a platform around that connected experience. Its approach centres on combining automation with a persistent understanding of customer needs, while enabling human teams to use the same information.

The longer-term ambition is to allow brands to automate more of the customer journey without losing the context that makes those interactions relevant.
