NTT DATA and Palo Alto Networks Sign Global Strategic Alliance to Accelerate Secure AI Transformation

Article content
NTT DATA and Palo Alto Networks have announced a multi-year global strategic alliance designed to help enterprises securely adopt AI, modernize cybersecurity and build greater cyber resilience as AI reshapes the technology landscape.
The alliance targets $1 billion in joint business by the end of three years, in 2029, combining Palo Alto Networks' AI-powered cybersecurity platforms with NTT DATA's consulting, engineering and managed services capabilities.
Combining Cybersecurity With Enterprise AI Expertise
The partnership brings together Palo Alto Networks' security platforms and Unit 42 threat intelligence with NTT DATA's global cybersecurity expertise, AI governance capabilities and managed services.
The companies will support organizations across the full security lifecycle, from assessing cyber risk and deploying AI securely to continuously optimizing security environments.
The alliance is backed by joint engineering and co-innovation initiatives, coordinated global delivery and more than 2,000 Palo Alto Networks-certified professionals. NTT DATA also brings more than 7,500 cybersecurity professionals, 70+ delivery centers and 20+ Autonomous Cyber Defense Centers to the collaboration.
Six Areas of Focus
The initial joint solutions will focus on cybersecurity challenges affecting highly regulated and critical industries, including financial services, healthcare, manufacturing and the public sector.
The companies identified six strategic transformation areas:
- Autonomous Security Operations Center: Using agentic AI and managed services to help organizations detect, investigate and respond to threats faster.
- AI Governance: Embedding security, governance and risk management throughout the AI lifecycle.
- Identity Security: Protecting and governing human, machine and AI-agent identities across enterprise environments.
- Zero Trust and SASE: Securing users, applications and data through unified zero trust and secure-edge architectures.
- Resilient Cloud: Improving visibility, compliance and risk reduction across multi-cloud environments.
- Firewall Modernization: Reducing complexity while improving visibility and strengthening enterprise security.
Enabling Secure AI Adoption
The alliance comes as enterprises move beyond AI experimentation and begin deploying AI across increasingly complex environments.
For organizations, the challenge is no longer simply adopting AI, but doing so while maintaining governance, identity controls, threat protection and resilience. Palo Alto Networks has increasingly positioned security around the AI enterprise, including solutions addressing AI applications, agents and emerging machine-scale identities.
Through direct engineering collaboration, NTT DATA will also receive early access to new Palo Alto Networks platform capabilities, allowing the company to accelerate the delivery of AI security services to clients.
Looking Ahead
The partnership represents a broader shift toward combining cybersecurity platforms with global consulting and managed services capabilities as enterprises scale AI.
By bringing together Palo Alto Networks' security technology and NTT DATA's global delivery, engineering and industry expertise, the companies aim to help organizations modernize their security environments while accelerating AI adoption without compromising trust or resilience.
