Dell Raises Annual Forecast as AI Data Center Expansion Drives Demand Surge

Article content
Dell Technologies has raised its annual revenue and profit forecasts following a sharp rise in demand for AI-optimized servers and enterprise data center infrastructure, as organizations accelerate investments in generative AI capabilities.
The company increased its annual revenue outlook to between $165 billion and $169 billion, significantly higher than its earlier forecast of $138 billion to $142 billion. Dell also raised its adjusted earnings per share guidance to $17.90 from its prior estimate of $12.90.
Dell’s first-quarter revenue surged 88% year-over-year to $43.84 billion, substantially exceeding analyst expectations. The company’s AI infrastructure business, particularly AI-optimized servers powered by Nvidia chips, played a major role in driving growth.
The company now expects AI server revenue to reach approximately $60 billion for fiscal 2027, up from its earlier projection of $50 billion. Dell has emerged as one of the major beneficiaries of the ongoing enterprise AI infrastructure boom, supported by growing investments from hyperscalers and large enterprises.
According to reports, major technology companies including Alphabet and Amazon are expected to spend more than $700 billion collectively on AI infrastructure this year, further accelerating demand for servers, GPUs, storage, and data center equipment.
Dell executives also noted continued pricing and supply chain pressures driven by inflation and the ongoing memory chip supply constraints affecting the AI hardware market. Despite these challenges, the company has managed to strengthen its position through supply chain optimization and pricing adjustments.
Industry analysts view the results as another sign that enterprise AI spending is increasingly shifting from experimentation toward large-scale infrastructure deployment. Dell’s strong performance reflects growing demand for AI-ready compute environments, storage systems, and accelerated data center modernization globally.
