CuspAI has announced a $450 million Series B funding round alongside the launch of its AI Materials Foundry, a new collaborative platform designed to transform how advanced materials are discovered, developed, and brought to market.
The announcement marks a significant milestone for the AI-native materials science company as it aims to accelerate research and development by combining artificial intelligence, high-performance computing, experimental synthesis, and industrial collaboration.

The newly launched AI Materials Foundry brings together more than 45 global partners, including industry leaders such as Meta, NVIDIA, Henkel, Tokyo Electron, Applied Materials, Lam Research, Samsung Electronics, AMD, Merck Group, and A*STAR – Agency for Science, Technology and Research.
The initiative is designed to create rapid feedback loops between AI-driven design, computational modeling, material synthesis, and real-world integration, enabling researchers and enterprises to significantly reduce the time required to develop next-generation materials.
Compressing Decades of Research into Months
Sharing the announcement, Chad Edwards, Co-Founder and CEO of CuspAI, reflected on his experience as a chemistry PhD researcher and the lengthy trial-and-error process traditionally associated with materials discovery.
