Nutanix has acquired Ryax Technologies, a France-based company specialising in AI-driven compute orchestration and management. The acquisition is intended to strengthen Nutanix’s capabilities for helping enterprises build, run and govern agentic AI applications across hybrid infrastructure.

Nutanix plans to integrate Ryax’s GPU utilisation and intelligent scheduling technology into its Nutanix Kubernetes Platform (NKP) and Nutanix Enterprise AI (NAI) offerings. The financial impact of the acquisition is not material to Nutanix, according to the company.

The deal adds infrastructure optimisation capabilities to Nutanix’s broader AI strategy, addressing the operational challenges enterprises face as AI workloads move from experimentation into production.

Addressing the infrastructure demands of agentic AI

As enterprises expand their use of agentic AI, the infrastructure required to support inference and complex AI workflows is becoming more demanding.

GPU availability, rising compute costs and fragmented infrastructure can make it difficult for organisations to deploy workloads efficiently. Many are distributing their compute environments across private data centres, hyperscalers and specialised cloud providers to access the capacity they need.

Nutanix is positioning Ryax’s technology as a way to simplify this complexity through a more unified hybrid cloud operating model, helping enterprises make better use of available hardware while managing operational costs.

Bringing intelligent resource optimisation to AI workloads

Ryax’s platform is designed to help organisations use computing resources, including GPUs and CPUs, more effectively.

Its capabilities include intelligent resource optimisation, which aims to improve resource utilisation and reduce waste, and AI-aware smart scheduling, which can automatically place workloads on suitable, cost-effective infrastructure.

Together, these capabilities are intended to help enterprises balance performance, infrastructure availability and budget requirements as AI workloads scale.

For organisations operating across different infrastructure environments, automated workload placement can also reduce the need for manual intervention when configuring and managing AI deployments.

Connecting AI experimentation with production

Moving AI projects from experimentation into production can require substantial infrastructure integration, configuration and coordination across data, hardware and software.

Ryax’s orchestration technology is designed to automate parts of this underlying process, helping teams deploy, scale and manage AI workflows more efficiently.

By bringing these capabilities into its platform, Nutanix aims to reduce operational complexity for enterprises developing and running AI applications across hybrid environments.

The acquisition also supports Nutanix’s broader objective of giving customers greater flexibility over where AI workloads run, while maintaining a consistent approach to infrastructure management.

Integrating Ryax into Nutanix’s AI platform

Nutanix plans to incorporate Ryax’s technology into future releases of Nutanix Kubernetes Platform and Nutanix Enterprise AI.

The integration is intended to extend the platforms’ ability to manage AI workloads through improved GPU utilisation, automated scheduling and more efficient use of distributed compute resources.

Ryax’s team will join Nutanix in France and continue working on the technology as part of the combined organisation.

The planned integration will bring compute orchestration closer to the tools enterprises use to deploy and manage AI, applications and data across their infrastructure.

A strategic move in enterprise AI infrastructure

The acquisition reflects a wider shift in enterprise AI, where success increasingly depends not only on model capabilities but also on the infrastructure needed to operate AI systems reliably and economically.

As organisations move toward production-scale agentic AI, efficient resource allocation and simplified operations are becoming important considerations alongside security, governance and performance.

By combining its hybrid cloud platform with Ryax’s orchestration capabilities, Nutanix is seeking to address these requirements while giving customers greater flexibility in how they deploy AI across their environments.
