Canva has acquired Simtheory and Ortto in a dual deal aimed at expanding its capabilities across artificial intelligence and marketing automation.

The move brings together Simtheory’s agentic AI and collaboration technology with Ortto’s customer data and marketing automation platform, strengthening Canva’s ability to support end-to-end workflows for businesses.

With these additions, Canva is extending its platform beyond design into a more integrated system where teams can move from ideation to execution and performance measurement within a single environment.

The acquisitions also reinforce Canva’s broader strategy of building a unified workspace powered by AI, where content creation, data, and campaign execution are increasingly connected.

As enterprise demand shifts toward platforms that combine creativity with automation and intelligence, Canva’s expansion signals a deeper push into the Martech ecosystem—positioning itself not just as a design tool, but as a system that supports the full lifecycle of modern marketing operations.
