NDTV Group has elevated Dinesh Singh to Chief Technology and Information Officer, expanding his leadership responsibilities across technology and information systems after more than 27 years with the media organisation.

Based in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, Dinesh has served as Chief Technology Officer since May 2010. He began his tenure at NDTV in February 1999 as Head of Broadcast Operations and Engineering, building a career spanning broadcast infrastructure, television network operations and digital media systems.

In his new role, which began in August 2026, he brings together his long-standing technology leadership experience and a broader focus on enterprise technology and information systems.

From Broadcast Engineering to Technology Leadership

Dinesh joined NDTV in 1999 as Head of Broadcast Operations and Engineering, overseeing an area of the business where reliability, transmission quality and operational efficiency are central to media delivery.

During this period, his work included broadcast technology and engineering initiatives. His listed achievements include adopting MPEG-4 technology for a digital satellite news-gathering outside broadcast van, helping reduce satellite bandwidth requirements.

He also received international recognition for the design and use of a mobile studio for election coverage and the Metro Nation Delhi initiative.

Leading Technology at NDTV

Dinesh became Chief Technology Officer in May 2010, taking responsibility across a broad technology environment.

His stated remit has included television network operations, corporate IT, broadcast technology, satellite communication systems and the management of NDTV's digital over-the-top (OTT) ecosystem.

His experience also covers the design and management of end-to-end television broadcast facilities and digital OTT workflows, alongside budgeting, business operations forecasting and large-scale project management.

This combination of broadcast engineering and enterprise technology experience reflects the increasingly interconnected technology requirements of modern media organisations.

Expanding Into Enterprise IT and Information Systems

The move to Chief Technology and Information Officer broadens Dinesh's leadership title to encompass both technology and information systems.

Media businesses depend on integrated infrastructure spanning broadcast operations, digital distribution, corporate IT and content delivery. Managing these systems requires coordination between operational reliability, technology investment and evolving digital workflows.

Dinesh's extensive tenure at NDTV gives him experience across several stages of the organisation's technology operations, from broadcast engineering to oversight of its wider technology ecosystem.

Bringing AI Into Everyday Workflows

Dinesh's LinkedIn profile includes the guiding statement, “Not AI everywhere but AI in every workflow.”

The principle suggests a focus on integrating AI into practical business processes rather than adopting the technology indiscriminately. For media organisations, potential applications may span operational workflows, technology management and digital delivery, although NDTV has not publicly detailed specific AI initiatives under Dinesh's new role in the information provided.

As AI capabilities develop, technology leaders are increasingly tasked with identifying where these tools can improve efficiency while aligning implementation with operational requirements.

A Long Career at NDTV

Dinesh's appointment represents a further step in a career spent within the same organisation. From joining NDTV as Head of Broadcast Operations and Engineering in 1999 to becoming CTO in 2010 and taking on the CTIO position in August 2026, his progression has tracked the growing scope of technology leadership within the media sector.

His expanded role places him at the intersection of broadcast operations, enterprise IT and digital media infrastructure as NDTV continues to operate across an evolving technology landscape.
