Bank of America appoints Ram Gotur as Managing Director, Technology Executive in Wealth Management Technology

Article content
Bank of America has appointed Ram Gotur as Managing Director, Technology Executive within its Wealth Management Technology team, bringing technology leadership to the core platforms supporting Merrill and the Private Bank.
Ram's responsibilities include technology underpinning the firm's consolidated view of client assets, alongside the client servicing experience. His focus will be on advancing these platforms and evolving them toward AI-native, data-driven systems.
The move follows his time at Wells Fargo, where he built experience in financial services technology before taking on his new role at Bank of America.
Leading Core Wealth Management Platforms
Ram's remit covers technology supporting two major parts of Bank of America's wealth management business: Merrill and the Private Bank.
These platforms support the systems clients and financial advisors rely on to access and manage information, understand asset positions and engage with the bank's services.
The technology underpinning these experiences must bring together reliable data, consistent information and effective servicing capabilities. As wealth management becomes increasingly digital, the quality and integration of these systems remain important to both client experience and operational delivery.
Establishing a Trusted View of Client Assets
A central part of Ram's responsibilities is the technology that serves as the source of truth for client assets across the business.
Maintaining a reliable view of client holdings requires data consistency and dependable integration across systems. It also provides a foundation for the tools and experiences used by advisors and clients.
The role places Ram at the intersection of core data platforms and the day-to-day technology that supports wealth management relationships.
Moving Toward AI-Native, Data-Driven Technology
Ram has identified the evolution of core platforms toward AI-native and data-driven systems as a key focus of his new role.
For financial services organisations, this transition involves more than adding AI features to existing applications. It also requires dependable data foundations, integrated systems and technology architectures capable of supporting new ways of working.
Within wealth management, these foundations may support more contextual client servicing, improved access to information and new capabilities for advisors. Any such applications must operate within the security, privacy and regulatory expectations of the financial services industry.
Advancing the Client Servicing Experience
Alongside client asset data, Ram's remit includes the technology supporting the client servicing experience.
For wealth management businesses, servicing systems connect clients and advisors with the information and processes required to manage financial relationships. Their effectiveness depends on the availability of accurate information and the ability to deliver consistent experiences across relevant channels.
Developing these platforms alongside the underlying data architecture creates an opportunity to improve how clients and advisors interact with the bank's services.
A New Chapter After Wells Fargo
Ram acknowledged his Wells Fargo colleagues as he announced his move to Bank of America, marking the end of a meaningful chapter in his career.
His new position brings him into a technology leadership role focused on wealth management platforms at a time when financial institutions are evaluating how AI, data and modern technology architectures can support their businesses.
At Bank of America, his work will centre on advancing the core systems supporting Merrill and the Private Bank while helping shape their next phase of technological development.
