Article content
Accenture has elevated Tej Randhawa to Managing Director, APAC Lead, AI-Ready Data | Enterprise AI Transformation, expanding his leadership responsibilities across Asia Pacific. In his new role, Randhawa will help enterprises establish the data foundations required to scale AI beyond pilot projects and integrate it into core business operations.
His remit centres on modernising enterprise data platforms, enabling cloud migration and developing the knowledge engineering and semantic layers needed to give AI systems and agents reliable business context. The role also brings a focus on responsible AI adoption, with data quality, lineage and governance embedded into transformation programmes.
Building the Data Foundations for Enterprise AI
As organisations move from AI experimentation towards wider deployment, the quality and accessibility of enterprise data remain critical to delivering business value. Fragmented systems, disconnected information and inconsistent data governance can limit the effectiveness of AI initiatives.
Tej's expanded role at Accenture focuses on helping businesses address these challenges by modernising data estates and developing connected, trusted information foundations. This includes building semantic layers and knowledge engineering capabilities that help AI applications and agents interpret business information in context.
The focus reflects a broader shift in enterprise AI, where success increasingly depends not only on models and applications but also on the data infrastructure supporting them.
Partnering with Enterprise Leadership
In his new position, Tej will work with CEOs, Chief AI Officers, Chief Data Officers and Chief Information Officers across APAC to align data strategies with enterprise transformation priorities.
The work involves connecting technology investments with business objectives, helping organisations modernise their platforms and turn their data assets into a source of competitive advantage.
As companies seek to scale AI across business functions, collaboration between executive leadership, data teams and technology functions becomes increasingly important. Establishing a clear connection between data strategy and operational priorities can help enterprises move beyond isolated use cases towards broader adoption.
Embedding Responsible AI into Transformation
Responsible AI is another central element of Tej's remit. As AI systems become more deeply integrated into enterprise operations, organisations need confidence in the accuracy, traceability and governance of the data underpinning their decisions.
Embedding data quality, lineage and governance into transformation programmes can help enterprises strengthen oversight and establish more reliable foundations for AI adoption.
This approach is particularly relevant as businesses explore agentic AI, where systems may increasingly interact with enterprise applications and information to support complex workflows. Trusted data and appropriate governance are essential to ensuring these capabilities can be deployed responsibly.
Advancing AI-Led Transformation Across APAC
Tej's expanded leadership role comes as enterprises across Asia Pacific assess how to translate AI investment into measurable operational outcomes.
By bringing together data modernisation, cloud transformation, knowledge engineering and Responsible AI, his remit focuses on addressing the foundational challenges that can determine whether AI initiatives scale successfully.
His appointment strengthens Accenture's leadership focus on AI-ready data and enterprise transformation, supporting organisations as they work to make AI a more integrated part of their business operations.
